iPhone Notes app for ideas and scribbles. My laptop is not always with me, but my phone is (unfortunately). Also I don't need to turn on the light when I have an idea while tossing and turning in bed at 3 a.m. It's simple and convenient.

I use Google Docs for writing most of my pieces, but recently I've found a journal/notebook to be more friendly for writing creative pieces. I write the first draft of poems and the first few paragraphs for fiction by hand.

As I know I will be typing it up later and currently cannot strike off or change too much of my work, my Anxiety reduces significantly, and words flow out rapidly. I've been enjoying this process much more than staring at a blank page for ages waiting for creativity to strike.

I have also been using a text-to-speech app, Read Aloud (Chrome Extension). It has been a game-changer for my final read-throughs, and has cut the time by 75% that I used to spend obsessing over the final edit before proofreading.
