You are right; there is no correct answer to this question, and "we" should put "ourselves" at the center of our life's plans.

I also think that the answer may change with the phase of life that one is in, based on the realizations and learnings it presents.

For me, at this juncture, the plan is to focus on the present and take things one at a time.

I, too, believe in having a long term vision, as I think that strategy is as important as execution, and I am sure that I will be building one for myself in a few years.

Now, I am learning to enjoy life without having a rigid plan and with the high and lows of being a writer. :)
